BOYS BASEBALL  -  The CAA uses the following rules adaptations for Boys baseball.  1. National Federation State High School rules will govern all play except as noted below (the designated hitter rule will be used.) 2. The length of all games will be six innings.If there is a field conflict at 6:00PM, the home coach should inform the visiting coach before the start of the game. In such cases, no inning will start after 6:00PM. 3. The home team must furnish the bases for each game.  Each team will firnish one new ball for each game.  Additional balls should be provided by the home team if necessary. 4. All players must wear batting helmets with ear flaps while batting and while running the bases. 5. The decisions of the umpire on judgement calls are final and not subject to unreasonable discussion.  Remember, coaches coach, players play, umpires officiate, and parents watch. 6. Students must attend the school for which they are playing. 7. Team rosters must be submitted to the CAA no later than May first.  Players must only play on one team.  Players on CAA "B" and "C" teams are not eligible to also play on "A" teams. 8. Protests concerning player eligibility or misinterpretations of the rules will be accepted under the following conditions: The umpire must be informed by the team making the protest at the time the incident occurs.  Protests must be in writing and delievered to the CAA within 24  hours of the game in question.  A five dollar fee must accompany the protest; it will be returned if the protest is upheld. 9. Any coach, player, or student manager using profane, vulgar, or insulting language will be subject to ejection from the game.  Anyone ejected from a CAA game will automatically be suspended from their next CAA game.   Coaches are responsible for the conduct of their team and spectators.  Umpires have the authority to forfeit a game if his instructions regarding crowd control and/or conduct are not followed. 10. Each coach must submit a lineup card to the umpire and to the opposing coach. 11. Rainouts are the responsibility of the home coach.  The home coach should check on field condition then inform the CAA and the visiting coach of the game's status.  Both coaches should agree to a makeup date and time and inform the CAA so that an umpire can be provided.  Coaches should inform the opposing coach and the CAA 48 hours when a date for a game cannot work due to conflicts. 12. The CAA uses the ten run rule after four and a half or five innings in all levels of play A, B, and C. 13. "A" Baseball pitching is 60 feet and bases are 90 feet.  "B" Baseball pitching is from 55 feet, and the bases are 82 feet.  "C" Baseball is pitching from 50 feet and bases are 75 feet. 14. In "B" and "C" baseball there is a 90 minute time limit.  No new inning may start after the 90 minute time limit.
